Zainab Yaqub

Zainab Yaqub is a lecturer at the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Ilorin, Nigeria, where she is committed to learning, disseminating knowledge and advancing research in her field. She obtained her first degree in chemical engineering at the University of Lagos, Nigeria, before proceeding to the University of Johannesburg, South Africa, to earn both her masters and doctoral degrees in chemical engineering. Zainab’s research interests lie in decarbonisation and carbon capture technologies. Beyond her academic pursuits, Zainab also engages in advocacy, community engagements, and development work. As someone who believes in the transformative power of education to change lives and drive innovation and development, she founded the Milestone Agenda for Youth Empowerment and Development (MAFYEDI), a nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating for access to education and opportunities for all children, particularly those from marginalized communities.
