Kacie Miura

Kacie Miura is assistant professor of political science and international relations at the University of San Diego. Professor Miura teaches courses on international relations, China, and East Asia. Her research focuses on the links between domestic and international politics with a regional focus on China and the Asia-Pacific. Her current book project explores when, why, and how local officials in China participate in foreign economic retaliation.

She was a Wilson Center China Fellow and a US-Korea NextGen Scholar. She was also previously a research fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School's Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs and a member of the Security Studies Program at MIT. She was also a Peace Corps volunteer in Fuling, China.

Miura received her PhD from MIT, MA from Yale University in international relations, and BA from University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa in political science and journalism.
