Chengyang (Damien) Zhang

PhD Student

Chengyang Zhang is a PhD student in the MIT Department of Political Science and affiliated with the Center’s Security Studies Program. He specializes in international relations and security studies. His research interests focus on foreign/security policy decision-making, the nexus between domestic politics and diplomacy, and authoritarian politics. He is a recipient of the Presidential Fellowship at MIT. Before coming to MIT, Chengyang graduated from Peking University with a BA in International Politics, and from Stanford University with an MA in East Asian Studies. He also worked at the Institute for International and Strategic Studies at Peking University as a research assistant.
