MIT-Norway University of Bergen Seed Fund

The MIT-Norway University of Bergen Seed Fund supports collaborations between faculty and researchers at MIT and the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Bergen (UiB).

Maximum award: $30,000

Proposals must be linked to an identified research group or researcher permanently employed at UiB Faculty of Humanities. Collaborations involving researchers in early or mid-career stages are encouraged. Priority will be given to projects that:

  • Are new or are entering a new phase

  • Involve students (including PhD candidates) in a meaningful way

  • Have high potential for impact beyond the initial funding period, such as continued collaboration, joint proposals, or other opportunities

  • Include a balanced exchange and demonstrate complementarity between the two universities

  • Involve interdisciplinary collaboration and/or digital humanities.
