MIT-Italy Roberto Rocca Project - Politecnico di Milano

The Roberto Rocca Project supports collaboration between MIT and Politecnico di Milano.

Maximum award: $20,000

Priority is given to projects in the following fields:

  • materials science
  • mechanical and environmental engineering
  • bioengineering, health sciences and technologies
  • energy
  • electrical engineering
  • mathematical engineering and artificial intelligence
  • computer science and smart technologies
  • space planning and hospital design

MIT-Italy Links Foundation and Politecnico di Torino Seed Fund

The MIT-Italy Links Foundation and Politecnico di Torino Seed Fund supports collaboration in computer science, electronics, and telecommunications between MIT and the Links Foundation or Politecnico di Torino.

Maximum award: $17,000

Priority is given to projects in quantum technologies, Photonics and EM.

MIT and Links/Politecnico di Torino awardees will receive their award from their own institutions.

 

MIT-Italy FVG (SISSA-Trieste-Udine) Seed Fund

The MIT-Italy FVG (SISSA-Trieste-Udine) Seed Fund is funded by the Regione Friuli Venezia Giulia and supports collaborations between MIT faculty and researchers and their counterparts at SISSA, Universita’ of Trieste, and Universita’ di Udine

Maximum award: $25,000

Priority is given to projects that promote the EU 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

MIT and Sissa, Universita’ di Trieste and Universita’ di Udine awardees will receive their award from their own institutions. 

 

MIT-Italy UniCattolica Milano Seed Fund

The MIT-Italy UniCattolica Milano Seed Fund supports research between MIT faculty and research scientists and their counterparts at the Universita’ Cattolica Del Sacro Cuore di Milano.

Maximum award: $30,000

MIT and UniCattolica awardees will receive their award from their own institutions.

 

MIT-Italy - CNR Climate Change Seed Fund

This new collaboration with Italy’s National Research Council, Department of Earth System Science and Environmental Technologies (CNR DSSTTA) — funds projects on climate change, and the mitigation and adaptation processes of terrestrial and marine environments.  

Maximum Award: $25,000

MIT and CNR awardees will receive their award from their own institutions.

 

MIT-Italy SSSA Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna Seed fund

This new collaboration with Italy’s Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies-Pisa funds projects in the fields of BioRobotics, Mechanical Intelligence, Economics and Management, Political Sciences, Agricultural Sciences and Plant Biotechnology, Medicine, Telecommunications, IT, and Photonics and Information. 

Maximum Award:  $25,000

MIT and Sant’Anna awardees will receive their award from their own institutions.
