MIT-Brazil Amazonia Seed Fund

The MIT-Brazil Amazonia Seed Fund supports collaborations between MIT and universities, research institutions and NGOs across Brazil.

Maximum award: $30,000

Launched in partnership with Amazonia 2030, the fund focuses on projects addressing the Brazilian Amazonian region in the following areas:

  • Cities
  • Medical sciences and technology
  • Climate and sustainability:
    • Nature-based solutions for carbon sequestration
    • Biology and biologic diversity
    • Sustainable economic development
    • Energy
    • Climate change adaptation

Applicants from all regions of Brazil are welcome; however, the main Brazilian collaborator(s) must be based in — and the proposed project must be directly relevant to — the Amazonian Biome in Brazil.
