Rosabelli Coelho

Rosabelli Coelho brings a deeply multifaceted identity to her work—far beyond traditional leadership titles. Long before joining MIT, she was already a producer and implementer, turning ideas into reality; a matchmaker of students and faculty, connecting people and institutions across borders; and an educator and caregiver, supporting people through life transitions.
At MIT, she amplified this vocation—creating more space for Brazil at MIT, and vice versa—forging institutional ties and expanding opportunities for both students and faculty. Her efforts were recognized with the 2021 Infinite Mile Award from the MIT School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, honoring exceptional service and dedication. In 2025, she received an Official Resolution from the Boston City Council, introduced by Councilor Henry Santana, commending her leadership of MIT-Brazil and MIT-Amazonia in fostering U.S.–Brazil collaboration and advancing sustainable development in the Amazon region.
As a fundraiser, she has built bridges of support that empowered global learning; as a mentor and matchmaker, she has connected MIT minds with Brazilian institutions and vice versa. Beyond the academy, she expresses her creative spirit as a dilettante artist and crafter—through cooking, baking, fabric art, dance, and community-based creative projects.
Whether before MIT, during her years there, or in what comes next, Rosabelli’s mission has been to help people connect, grow, and re-imagine what’s possible.
