US trade probes risk alienating Asean, casting doubt on future of deals
Joanne Lin, Fulbright Fellow at CIS, is quoted: "It reflects how important Southeast Asia has become in global supply chains, especially as companies diversify away from the US... At the same time, it also points to growing US concerns about how some of these supply chains are structured, particularly where countries are deeply integrated with Chinese inputs or imports, which raises the risk of transshipment or indirect exposure to China-linked overcapacity.”
