US at odds with allies over how easy it is to reopen Hormuz

Caitlin Talmadge, member of the Security Studies Program (SSP) and faculty affiliate at the Center for Nuclear Security Policy (CNSP), is quoted: “Mine clearance operations are intended to be conducted in a permissive environment...the relevant vessels and operators could be vulnerable if Iranian attacks resume, particularly dedicated mine countermeasures ships which generally lack an ability to defend themselves.”
