In 2022 China is undergoing a tumultuous year even as the upcoming National Party Congress, which will meet in the second half of this year, is expected to see some major churning in the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), says China expert M Taylor Fravel, Arthur and Ruth Sloan Professor of Political Science and director of the Security Studies Program at MIT. He also said, the visit by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to India in March was an indication that China wants to reset ties with India keeping the border issue separate, Fravel tells in an interview with ThePrint’s Nayanima Basu.
