Professor Narang spoke with many media outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, on President Trump, the Iran Deal and North Korea.
“Denuclearization is a catch-all term that allows both sides to let it mean whatever they want it to mean,” said Vipin Narang, associate professor of political science and a member of the Security Studies Program. He spoke with several media outlets about President Trump's withdrawl from the Iran Deal and the implications it has on North Korea, speculating about the expectations both leaders have for the upcoming June 12th summit in Singapore between Kim and Trump. “The devil is always in the detail, and in the process,” says Narang, a nuclear expert. “Denuclearization is a long journey, not an outcome.”
